I will begin uploading photos that have been requested from me in the past. These photos are compressed and therefore the picture quality is much lower than the originals (approx. 28% the original file size). This means they will be slightly blurrier and the colour will be off - this is not always noticeable without the originals as comparison. I have also added a watermark to these photos due to a couple horror stories I have heard from people regarding this sort of thing. I have also built in a Request link at the top and the bottom of each "Photos" page, with which you will be able to request a digital/hard copy of any photograph on this site without the compression or watermark (for personal use only).
In addition to this, I would like to make something clearer than I believe I have. I will upload pictures of single shots with no real story behind them under the "Uncategorized" subheading, which will update so newer photos will be at the top. I will eventually get around to giving this a separate page, however my main focus at the moment is blocking spam, which will take precedent. I will also figure out how I will store photos so they are all always easy to access. As always, suggestions are welcomed. Again, I recommend signing up via email for updates on the sight and to be alerted when new posts are available. This can be done by scrolling to the bottom of the page and entering your email address under the caption "Subscribe via Email". Be sure to check your Spam Inbox.

The Beginning
Ok, so from what I hear blogging can be a difficult task. You have to be consistent with your posts and always have something intriguing to say. Having said this, historically I don't think I have ever really had either of those in my favour as I tend to slack with this sort of thing and never really talk unless there's a slight chance it could initiate some sort of rebellious and protracted argument. This is already sounding more like a confession than anything and to maintain any pride I may have left after this I feel like I should stop, so with that, I bid you all farewell (for now at least). I will try and be consistent (if there is anything to say) and put minimal effort in trying not to bore any of you with anything you might not want to hear. Oh yeah, what is this about? This is more a photo journal than anything. A way to reach out and talk to all of you through the lens of one of my favourite possessions. I'll likely upload single (sometimes multiple) photos on a day to day basis when I am away on trips, or just wandering around. As many of you know, I am heading to Peru for a volunteer trip next year so we can build a hospital and experience their culture as well as living conditions first hand. I will (when I can) post daily on trips like this with a little list of things we might have done that day. That's pretty much all, I guess. To save yourself the trouble of reloading this page every day until you eventually give up, or forget to, might I suggest just subscribing to be alerted by email whenever a new post comes in? So here's to this. My attempt to reach out and share my life with you all. May The Wandering Contrarian live long and prosper.
Dylan.
